König von Ungarn

This is the best hotel in Vienna for a central location. 1/2 block from St Stephens and the Kartnerstrasse, pedestrian area and coffee shops, shopping, etc. Included breakfast is excellent and the rooms are clean, nice and quiet. The staff is friendly, professional and helpful. It is an old residence. This hotel is our choice in Vienna over all others because of its location - location - location and its staff. Pricing is reasonable, considering what you get.

Ask for Sayed, a great guy.

I know that's a popular hotel, Karen Brown and all that, but somehow I never warmed to it. Lots of Americans and a bit precious. Just as well located are the Kaiserin Elisabeth and the Römischer Kaiser. Anybody tried the less expensive Pension Aviano which Gemut seems to recommend highly? All these are very near each other just off the Kärntnerstrasse.

Because we usually travel with a car and it's so difficult to find parking in Vienna, we like the Hotel Admiral. It is right off Mariahilferstrasse and behind the Museum Quartier. A short 3-5 minute walk and you are at the Ringstrasse and the Ubahn. Rooms are clean, the bathrooms large and modern and breakfast is good. They have several parking places right next to the hotel (you need to request a parking place when you book the room). Also, the rates are very reasonable.
