What happens when you show up at the rental desk but there is no car for you?
Below is a recent email we received from the Auto Europe night crew. One customer arrived at the Hertz counter on the French side of the Geneva Airport a few minutes past 10pm (1am West Coast time) only to find Hertz had shut down for the night. She used the toll-free-from-Europe help line we provide to all Gemut.com customers. Read on to find out what happened...
Hi Gemut.com team,
This is just an FYI as the client has already checked out her vehicle and is on her way.
This rental was booked with flight info (EZ 7345) and was confirmed for pick up at 10 PM with Hertz France in Geneva. The client arrived at the counter a little past 10 PM and there was no one there.
We were able to confirm a car on the Swiss side of Geneva with Avis. The client accepted this solution and has already checked out the vehicle. We matched the rate, so the client did not pay anything additional.
If you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact us and we are sorry for this circumstance.
Best regards,
