Vieux Fort | Thursday, Jan 30, 2025 | Thursday, Jan 30, 2025 |
Vieux Fort is set on St. Lucia's southern tip, 20 mi/32 km southeast of Castries. There's not much to see in the town itself, but the surrounding area offers some beautiful, long beaches (Anse de Sables may be the prettiest beach on the island), hotels and restaurants, the Maria Islands Nature Reserve, and St. Lucia's international airport, Hewanorra. The scenery en route from Castries along the Atlantic coast includes some of the most spectacular views in the Caribbean. Though you could get to Vieux Fort and back on a day trip, an overnight stay will give you plenty of time to see the sights along the way. Leave Castries via the center road that goes over the Barre de L'Isle Range—the sights are breathtaking. If it's still light when you arrive in Vieux Fort, see the blending of the Caribbean and Atlantic from atop Moule-a-Chique, not far from town. And if you're there on a Saturday, be sure to stop at the lively market.
Portsmouth | Friday, Jan 31, 2025 | Friday, Jan 31, 2025 |
Portsmouth gives access to the island of Dominica. Travel from Portsmouth into the island's exotic tropical interior - which soars to over 4000 feet and discover a wonderful environment of dense (and now protected) rainforest, rich flora and fauna, deep lakes, glittering waterfalls and fast-flowing rivers quite unlike any of its neighbours. Or visit Roseau, the other town on the island.
Iles des Saintes | Saturday, Feb 01, 2025 | Saturday, Feb 01, 2025 |
Pastoral and far off the beaten track, the Saintes are a cluster of eight islands off the southern coast of Guadeloupe. In Bourg, the charming hamlet on Terre-de-Haut, the largest isle, you can wander peaceful streets past small houses, then follow the narrow road out of town through fields and hills to a sweeping strand of secluded beach.

Mayreau, Grenadines | Monday, Feb 03, 2025 | Monday, Feb 03, 2025 |
Tossed like a tiny emerald among the Grenadines' 100 islands is Mayreau. In this idyllic spot there are no cars, just one tiny village and one resort, hidden away in the palms.
St. Georges, Grenadines | Tuesday, Feb 04, 2025 | Tuesday, Feb 04, 2025 |
St.Georges is located in the southern region of Saint Vincent. This destination offers its visitors some of the most beautiful Caribbean white sand beaches. There is so much to be explored in the island, including botanical gardens, exotic marine life, and wonderful waterfalls. There is also a Cathedral in St. Georges, which is known as the mother church in the Province of the West Indies.
Tobago Cays, Grenadines | Wednesday, Feb 05, 2025 | Wednesday, Feb 05, 2025 |
Made up of five small, uninhabited islands, Tobago Cays is a popular destination for anchoring cruise ships and yachts. Located in the Southern Grenadines, the archipelago is also the site of the Tobago Cays Marine Park, consisting of a large sand-bottomed lagoon and the vibrant Horseshoe Reef. The clear, warm waters and diverse marine life in the surrounding area, make Tobago Cays an excellent destination for travelers interested in diving, snorkeling and sport fishing.
Bridgetown (Barbados) | Thursday, Feb 06, 2025 | Thursday, Feb 06, 2025 |
The island’s capital, Bridgetown, is one of the Caribbean's major free ports, bustling with activity. Trafalgar Square features the monument to Horatio Nelson. Facing the square are handsome structures of the House of Assembly and the Legislative buildings. George Washington worshipped at St. Michael’s Cathedral during the only trip he made outside of the United States. Housed in former British military prison buildings, the Barbados Museum is divided into various galleries that feature exhibits depicting the history of Barbados from the pre-Columbian period to modern times. Built in 1816, Gun Hill Signal Station is the finest of several signal stations on the island. The white limestone lion behind the garrison is a well-known landmark. Barbados boasts excellent golf courses. A wide range of watersports is available at hotels and special watersports centers.
